But what good is a BBQ without a delicious BBQ sauce, especially while on a low carb/keto diet?
This homemade barbecue sauce is so good, it puts all the store-bought sauces to shame. It is sugar-free, low carb, and keto-friendly!
This recipe makes about 50 servings at 1 Tbsp per serving. Only 1g carbs per serving.

How To Make Low Carb BBQ Sauce (Keto-Friendly)
- 3 cups Sugar-Free Ketchup (24 oz)
- 2/3 Cup Sugar Substitute (We use Lakanto Monkfruit or Swerve)
- 1/4 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 TBSP Paprika Powder
- 1 TBSP Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
- 1 TBSP Spicy Brown Mustard
- 1 tsp Liquid Smoke
- 2 TBSP Coconut Aminos
- 1/4 tsp Sea Salt (Optional)
In a bowl, add half of the sugar substitute and the rest of the ingredients. Combine and whisk until smooth.
Add mixture to a saucepan over medium-high heat and cook for 5 minutes. Stir frequently to avoid burn.
Once the sauce begins to darken slightly, add the remaining sugar substitute and stir. Cook for another couple of minutes.
Remove from heat and let it cool.
Store in a sealed jar or empty bottle.
