What Ingredients Are in Low Carb Tortillas?
DRY INGREDIENTS
- ½ cup almond flour (50 g)
- ¼ cup coconut flour (30 g)
- ½ tsp baking soda (2.5 g)
- ½ tsp sea salt (2.5 g)
- 1 tbsp psyllium husk (12 g)
- 1 tbsp ground golden flax seeds (10 g)
WET INGREDIENTS
- 2 tbsp coconut oil (30 ml)
- 2 tbsp egg whites (60 g)
- 1/2 cup boiling water (120 ml)
How to Make Low Carb Tortillas?
- Preheat a cast-iron skillet over medium heat.
- Take all your dry ingredients, throw them in a bowl, and give them a good mix.
- Add coconut oil and mix well with a fork or hands. Then, add the egg whites.
- Add the hot water and stir fast. The dough will get thick and easy to work with.
- Divide your dough into 8 portions. Aim for each to be around 28g.
- Flatten each portion between parchment sheets to get 10cm discs.
- Time to cook! Fry the tortillas in the skillet for 1-2 minutes on each side.
- Serve while they're hot!
